Webcasting

Webcasters create and transmit via the Internet captions for meetings, conferences, seminars and other organized gatherings.

These captioners either listen to the event live, or listen to a recording of it in cases where a previously recorded event is receiving captions. They transcribe the spoken words into text which is transmitted over the Internet, often along with a video recording of the event.

These events can include:

  • Sporting Events
  • Corporate Meetings
  • Training Seminars
  • Distance Learning Courses
  • Press Events
  • Government Conferences

In addition to transcribing, webcasters with foreign language experience are often called upon to translate such events into another language for international audiences.
